The Heritage
The Beginning
Originally opened as The Vancouver Heritage Manor by industrialist Edmund Lumareth. Back then, it was basically the place where city deals got made over cigars and brandy. The building itself? Pure Victorian elegance with hand-carved mahogany and imported Italian marble.
The Golden Era
Prohibition era brought some interesting guests, let's just say that. We added the grand ballroom and the underground wine cellar - both still in use today. Jazz musicians would play till dawn, and the stories from those nights... well, they're better told over drinks at our bar.
Changing Hands
The Lumareth family sold to the Morrison Group, who thankfully understood what they had. Instead of tearing it down for condos (yeah, that was on the table), they poured money into restoration. Original fixtures were preserved, the facade got cleaned up, and we kept our soul intact.
The Rebirth
Major renovation project kicked off - took three years and a team of historians, designers, and craftspeople who actually gave a damn. We pulled out all the mod-70s mistakes and brought back the original character while sneaking in modern comforts. AC that actually works? Check. WiFi that doesn't cut out? You bet.
Today
We're still here, still making memories. The chandeliers have seen generations of celebrations, the walls remember countless conversations, and somehow we've managed to keep that special something that makes people come back. It's not just a hotel anymore - it's part of Vancouver's living history.

Our restaurant's in the original grand hall with those massive windows. Chef Marcus does this thing where he takes old recipes from our archives and gives 'em a modern spin. Trust me, the 1920s duck confit is something else.

Yeah, we do corporate events, but in rooms with actual character. The Morrison Boardroom still has the original fireplace and built-in bookcases. Your Zoom calls will never look cooler.
Wellness Retreat
The spa's in what used to be the old library. High ceilings, natural light, and treatments that'll undo whatever stress you brought with you. The hot stone massage is basically mandatory.
